The clients of UNLIMITED FITNESS supported the SPCA Windhoek ("Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals of Windhoek") with the amount of N$ 1127.55 by buying a wonderful "Stretching Folder".
This "Stretching Folder" was designed to help our clients and friends to stay active and healthy while they are travelling. It consists of 10 easy to follow stretches which can be done either at the petrol station while you are waiting to get the petrol or when you take a break after a long drive.
It can also be used at your desk after hours of sitting. You can keep the "Stretching Folder" in your cubbyhole or handbag.
Stretching is so important during the day because our body is not designed to sit for prolonged hours (and also often in positions which are not maintaining the neutral spine position). Often back pain occurs when the discs of the back are squeezed together and the nerve can't run smoothly through the passage.
When back pain is presented, the first thing that should be done is to release tight muscles.
Stretching helps to lengthen muscles, relaxes tiered body parts and especially improves oxygen flow to the discs.
